Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti] Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast in history to be awarded a perfect score of 10 in the Olympic competition. Bela Karolyi, later Romanian Gymnastics Coach discovered Comaneci when she was just six years old. She first competed in the national junior championships of 1969, finishing 13th. She won the competition in the year 1970. At her first international event, which was an preolympics junior event that was open to countries of the communist bloc, she won 3 gold medals. In 1973 and 1975, she won crowned all-around Junior Champion. In her first international competition as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she beat out Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva the five-time European champion, winning four gold and one silver medal. She was the first woman to ever successfully complete reverse double saltos when dismounting from an uneven parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was a teen she began her career in the entertainment field performing as a figure skater. Along with her twin brother Nina Wayne she was part of a show that traveled called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th day of September 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol started her career in entertainment as a teenager. At the age of a girl, she began performing as a figure skating performer with Nina Wayne in the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. The shows featured ice skating that included theatrical performances.
