Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 in 1980) was an American actress, singer and dancer. Her career began with Broadway career in musicals such as Wicked, Legally Blonde, and Hair. The Tony Award was given to Ashford for her performance as Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh is a collaborator on projects with award-winning director as well as actors and producers throughout the course of her career. Ashford is scheduled to be starring alongside Kumail Nanjiani, on Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It debuts on the 22nd November. Ashford currently works in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust opposite Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch Bachrach. As a Hulu Original, the film is available on Disney DTC's platforms. Ashford's Broadway return is scheduled to take place on March 20, 2023. He stars opposite Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will be the creative team for the musical. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment which is based on the national crisis that swept across the country. Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country's first impeachment hearings in over one century. She was in two seasons of hit CBS comedy B Positive. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not unfamiliar with Broadway won both Tony Drama Desk Awards as in addition to Outer Critics Circle Awards in her character as Essie. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the originating part of Lauren of Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway credits. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and currently splits her life between Los Angeles, and New York.
